For the week ending November 9, U.S. rail carload and intermodal volumes showed mixed results, as reported by the Association of American Railroads (AAR). Rail carloads totaled 224,722, down 3.7% from the previous year, with gains in certain commodities like farm products and chemicals, while coal and motor vehicles experienced declines. Intermodal units rose by 11.7% to 294,393. Year-to-date, rail carloads are down 3.1% at 9,824,787, while intermodal units increased by 9.0% to 11,916,081.
