Air freight rates experienced a slight decline during the week ending December 23, as peak season demand subsided, with TAC Index reporting a 3.5% drop in the global Baltic Air Freight Index. Despite some cargo rush ahead of potential tariffs, rates from China to Europe and the U.S. were generally lower, with Hong Kong routes down 3.2% week-over-week. Mixed trends were noted across Asia, with rates from Vietnam and India decreasing, while increases were seen from Bangkok and Seoul. In Europe, Frankfurt’s outbound rates fell 7.1% week-over-week, although Heathrow reported a 5.9% increase.
