Chewy’s automation in fulfillment centers and an enhanced supply chain tool enabled the company to efficiently manage a surge in orders during the holiday season, according to CEO Sumit Singh. While less than half of their distribution volume is currently automated, Chewy aims to increase this to over 70%. Singh highlighted that automation has significantly boosted productivity, volume capacity, and safety. Chewy operates six automated fulfillment centers across various states, aiming to reduce operational costs and improve order processing times.
