Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), set to open on September 30, will enhance passenger convenience and transform Maharashtra into a logistics hub with its advanced cargo facilities. Initially featuring a dedicated terminal with a capacity of 0.5 million tonnes, it aims to expand to 3.25 million tonnes. Its proximity to JNPT will facilitate swift sea-air transshipment, while multimodal transport options will ensure efficient movement. With automated systems and dedicated cargo zones for perishables and pharmaceuticals, NMIA will streamline operations alongside existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
