Toyota Motor Corp. has announced a $10 billion investment in its U.S. operations over the next five years to enhance mobility initiatives. Additionally, the company has commenced production at its electric vehicle battery plant in Liberty, North Carolina, which is its first facility of this type outside Japan. This 7-million-square-foot plant, expected to create up to 5,100 jobs, will produce 30 gigawatt hours of batteries annually. The total investment in the facility has now reached $13.9 billion, reflecting Toyota’s commitment to advancing its EV production capabilities and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
