The U.S. has reached a trade agreement with Japan to reduce tariffs and enhance market access for American goods, as confirmed by President Trump and Japan’s chief cabinet secretary. Under the deal, imports from Japan will incur a 15% tariff, and Japan will permit U.S. exports of cars, trucks, and agricultural products, along with committing to a $550 billion investment in the U.S. However, adjustments to existing tariffs on steel and aluminum were not included. This agreement comes as the U.S. also finalizes trade terms with the U.K. and continues negotiations with China.
