On October 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), a new airport developed by Adani Airport Holdings and CIDCO. Designed to enhance air connectivity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, NMIA will initially accommodate 20 million passengers annually, with a future capacity of 90 million. It features modern terminals, two runways, and sustainable infrastructure. The airport will significantly boost cargo capabilities, linking Maharashtra’s farmers to global markets and reducing logistics costs for local industries, while also serving as a multimodal hub connected to various transport networks.
