Five prominent fashion brands, including Adidas and H&M, have enhanced their greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, yet collectively they remain significantly behind on achieving international climate goals, according to the Corporate Climate Responsibility Monitor. While Adidas, Inditex, and H&M have aligned their 2030 goals with the Paris Agreement, Lululemon and Shein’s plans may permit emissions increases. The report emphasizes the need for greater transparency and renewable energy adoption in supply chains to effectively decarbonize the industry, highlighting that most emissions stem from garment manufacturing.
