A.P. Moller – Maersk’s cold chain facility at the Ruakura Superhub has received a 6 Star Green Star NZ Design & As-Built rating, making it New Zealand’s first cold storage facility to achieve this top sustainability standard. Opened in February 2024, the facility is Maersk’s largest investment in the country, enhancing the efficiency of goods transfer across transport modes. It features advanced technologies for decarbonization and energy efficiency, including a CO₂ refrigeration system and solar energy, demonstrating a commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in logistics.
