HP is accelerating its transition to manufacture PCs and printers outside of China to counteract unexpected tariff increases, according to CEO Enrique Lores. The company is boosting production in countries like India, Mexico, and Vietnam, aiming to eliminate reliance on Chinese manufacturing for U.S. imports by the end of June. This strategy includes redesigning logistics and sourcing new product configurations. CFO Karen Parkhill noted that the recent tariff hikes significantly impacted HP’s earnings and profit margins, prompting price increases on their products.
