Air Charter Service’s Asian offices have been extremely active, organizing nearly 100 charter flights carrying over 5,000 tons of cargo due to the closure of the Thailand-Cambodia land border. CEO Brendan Toomey noted that the border closure halted road transport, causing significant logistical challenges for industries reliant on cross-border supply chains, particularly affecting just-in-time manufacturers. In response, customers sought cargo charter flights, initially for automotive goods but later for consolidated shipments across various sectors. The flights operated between Bangkok and Cambodian cities, demonstrating the effectiveness of aircraft charters in critical situations.
