Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), set to begin operations later this year, aims to alleviate congestion at the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. NMIAL has submitted a Multi-Year Tariff Proposal (MYTP) to the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA), which has provisionally approved interim tariffs for aeronautical services until the final tariff order is issued. NMIA’s phased development plan anticipates handling 20 million passengers in its first year, with progressive increases in capacity and a focus on cargo operations, crucial for future logistics in the region.
