DP World has entered a 30-year concession with Syria’s General Authority for Land and Sea Ports to develop and operate the Port of Tartus, investing $800 million to enhance its infrastructure and establish it as a key trade hub linking Southern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. This agreement, signed in Damascus, aims to modernize the port after years of conflict and underinvestment, facilitating improved efficiency and connectivity. DP World also plans to explore further economic opportunities, enhancing Syria’s trade potential and supporting the national economy.
