Dnata, a prominent air and travel services provider, has launched a fleet of six autonomous electric vehicles at Dubai World Central, enhancing ground handling efficiency. This initiative, part of a AED 6 million project, marks a significant advancement in automating ramp operations, traditionally reliant on human drivers. The autonomous vehicles can tow multiple baggage containers simultaneously, improving safety and allowing staff to focus on more complex tasks. As DWC aims to become the world’s largest airport, this deployment serves as both an operational enhancement and a testing ground for future autonomous integration in aviation.
