Deutsche Post is advocating for a dedicated delivery person emoji, recognizing the vital role of postal workers globally. Spearheaded by the Austrian Post and supported by various international organizations, the proposal is under review by the Unicode Consortium and could be available by 2026. Despite the absence of a delivery person emoji among the over 3,800 existing emojis, the initiative has gained support from postal services worldwide and was endorsed at the World Postal Congress. The campaign aims to highlight postal workers’ significance on World Post Day, celebrated on October 9.
