Deutsche Post is backing a global push for a dedicated delivery person emoji, highlighting the vital role of postal workers. Led by Austrian Post and under review by the Unicode Consortium, this emoji could be introduced by 2026. Despite the existence of over 3,800 emojis, none represent postal and parcel delivery workers, who are essential in daily life. Supported by various international postal organizations and national postal services, the initiative aims to recognize these workers digitally. The proposal received unanimous backing at the World Postal Congress and will be promoted on World Post Day, October 9.
