CEVA Logistics and Avolta have initiated a sustainable transport pilot using three Duo Trailer vehicles powered by renewable hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) in Spain’s transport corridor between Barcelona and Madrid. This initiative could cut CO₂ emissions by 520 tons and nitrogen oxide by 180 kilograms annually, equating to 440 fewer trucks on the road. The Duo Trailers, capable of carrying 70 tons, utilize HVO to significantly lower harmful emissions. The pilot aims to assess scalability, potentially eliminating 35,200 conventional truck trips yearly and saving 21 million kilometers, advancing sustainable logistics.
