In August, the Port of Los Angeles maintained strong cargo volume, processing 958,355 TEUs, similar to the previous year. Executive Director Gene Seroka noted that the port moved nearly 2 million containers in July and August, marking the best two-month performance for any port in the Western Hemisphere. However, he anticipates a decrease in container volumes for the remainder of 2025 due to economic factors and early holiday imports. Year-to-date, the port has handled 6,934,004 TEUs, reflecting a 4.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
