APG is investing up to €250 million in SkyNRG on behalf of its pension fund client ABP to promote the global development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This funding will aid SkyNRG’s growth in capacity development, R&D, and innovative customer programs, facilitating the construction of SAF production facilities in the Netherlands, Sweden, and the U.S. SkyNRG, founded in 2009 and backed by KLM, aims to reduce carbon emissions and support the energy transition. This investment marks ABP’s first in the SAF sector, aligning with its strategy for impactful, sustainable investments.
