Hormel Foods is ceasing bacon production at its Tucker, Georgia plant to streamline operations, citing outdated equipment and the need for significant investment to meet long-term goals. Production has been relocated to other facilities as part of a broader multiyear transformation initiative aimed at enhancing the supply chain and increasing annual operating income by at least $250 million. This includes various projects such as opening a new distribution center in Memphis and implementing standardized manufacturing processes. Hormel has also seen changes in its supply chain leadership to support these efforts.
