Mars has entered into its first U.S. clean energy contracts with Enel to decarbonize its supply chain and fulfill electricity needs. The power purchase agreements will develop renewable energy projects that benefit both Mars and its suppliers, generating an estimated 1.8 terawatt-hours of clean energy annually and reducing carbon emissions by approximately 700 kilotonnes each year. This initiative aligns with Mars’ Renewable Acceleration program, aiming to source 100% renewable electricity across its entire supply chain and cut 3 million tonnes of carbon emissions by 2030.
