Swissport is investing in a new freight handling facility at East Midlands Airport to meet rising air cargo demand, tripling its handling capacity. This collaboration with the airport comes as cargo volumes have doubled year-on-year and are projected to grow significantly. Swissport is already servicing new cargo airlines and has seen an increase in freight handled, from nearly 19,000 tonnes to almost 37,000 tonnes. With plans for long-term development and enhanced facilities, Swissport aims to further expand its operations and partnerships in the region.
