Airbus has appointed Jürgen Westermeier as the new President and Managing Director for India and South Asia, starting 1 September 2025, succeeding Rémi Maillard. He will oversee operations in Commercial Aircraft, Defence and Space, and Helicopters, focusing on expanding Airbus’s presence in the region and supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Currently the Executive Vice-President and Chief Procurement Officer, Westermeier joined Airbus in 2020 and has a background in procurement and supplier partnerships. He began his career at BMW in 1998 and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe.
