The European Union has postponed the implementation of countermeasures against U.S. tariffs by six months, as confirmed by European Commission spokesperson Olof Gill. The necessary measures will be adopted soon. Previously, the EU had approved tariffs of up to 30% on various U.S. goods set to take effect on August 7, following discussions that resulted in a framework agreement to reduce U.S. tariffs from 30% to 15%. The EU has delayed its countermeasures three times, initially proposing tariffs on $107 billion worth of U.S. goods.
