The U.S. is extending a pause on tariffs for certain imports from Mexico after a call between President Trump and Mexico’s President Sheinbaum. Initially, imports were set to face a 30% tariff, but now there will be a 90-day moratorium on tariffs for goods compliant with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. However, imports of cars, steel, aluminum, and copper will still incur sectoral duties. Trump also plans to impose new tariffs of 25% on imports from India and 40% on those from Brazil starting soon, while continuing negotiations for a trade deal with Mexico.
