In an interview at the Air Cargo Forum India 2025, Mark Sutch, IndiGo’s Chief Commercial Officer for Cargo, highlighted that narrowbody domestic belly cargo constitutes 85% of the airline’s cargo operations. Although expanding internationally with new long-haul flights, IndiGo’s domestic network remains crucial. The airline will cease its Boeing 777-300ER flights to Istanbul by August 2025 due to regulatory issues. Sutch discussed plans to enhance cargo services in smaller cities and emphasized the need for regulatory consistency to optimize India’s air cargo growth, targeting 10 million tonnes by 2030.
