In June, the Port of Los Angeles processed 892,340 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs), marking an 8% increase from last year and setting a record for the busiest June in its 117-year history. Executive Director Gene Seroka noted that importers are preemptively bringing in holiday cargo due to anticipated higher tariffs, predicting that July may see peak activity as businesses adapt to trade uncertainties. The fiscal year ended with the port handling 10.5 million TEUs, its third consecutive year surpassing 10 million without vessel backups. Additionally, loaded imports rose by 10% and exports by 3% compared to last year.
