The public can provide feedback on a draft 2024 feasibility assessment that aims to identify cleaner drayage truck technologies to help the San Pedro Bay ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach meet their zero-emissions targets set in the 2017 Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP). Previous assessments occurred in 2018 and 2021, analyzing current technologies and economic factors. The CAAP aims for zero-emissions trucks by 2035 and terminal equipment by 2030. To facilitate this, the Ports have implemented a $10 fee per twenty-foot unit from diesel trucks to fund zero-emission truck purchases and have partnered with various agencies for additional support.
