Cathay Cargo reported a 13.6% increase in cargo carried in April 2025, transporting 133,398 tonnes, while AFTKs and RFTKs rose by 8.9% and 6.8%, respectively. However, the cargo load factor fell by 1.1 percentage points to 58.3% due to faster capacity growth than demand. Cumulatively, they carried 532,483 tonnes in the first four months, a 12.4% increase from 2024. Lavinia Lau attributed the month-on-month tonnage drop to seasonal factors. Despite this, products like Cathay Priority and Cathay Expert showed strong demand, particularly in specific routes. The airline anticipates stable cargo volumes from Southeast Asia in early May.
