Lufthansa Cargo is expanding its presence in Southern Europe by incorporating ITA Airways’ cargo capabilities into its global operations, starting from June 16, 2025. This collaboration marks a significant step for both airlines, establishing Rome as Lufthansa Cargo’s fifth international hub. Initially, Lufthansa will market ITA’s cargo capacity on select routes, with a long-term goal of fully integrating ITA’s cargo services. This partnership aims to enhance global trade by improving cargo connections and increasing capacity by nearly 20% for customers, while also tapping into Fiumicino’s cargo potential.
