Astral Aviation, Africa’s sole all-cargo airline based in Nairobi, has postponed its acquisition of two E190F aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), initially intended to launch Embraer’s passenger-to-freighter conversion program. CEO Sanjeev Gadhia stated that the E190F no longer aligns with their fleet strategy for the intra-African market. Meanwhile, NAC’s involvement in the E-Freighter program appears uncertain, as reports suggest it may have stepped back, with Regional One now recognized as the first customer for the E-Freighter conversions.
