Vienna Airport achieved record air cargo volumes in 2024, handling 297,945 tonnes, marking a 22% increase from the previous year and surpassing pre-crisis levels from 2019. The rise in long-haul services and strong demand for cargo space in passenger flights significantly contributed to these results, including a 15.3% increase in pharmaceutical handling. CEO Julian Jäger emphasized the airport’s role as a crucial air cargo hub in Central and Eastern Europe, while Senior VP Michael Zach highlighted the team’s efforts and upcoming enhancements to maintain growth.
