Canada Post workers have initiated a nationwide overtime ban, effective Friday, as announced by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). This decision follows the expiration of labor contracts for over 50,000 workers amid stalled negotiations. The union aims to minimize public disruption by encouraging members to limit their work to eight hours per day and 40 hours per week. Although this action allows operations to continue, it may lead to customer delays. The CUPW is advocating for better wages and full-time staffing for weekend deliveries, while Canada Post’s recent offer fell short of the union’s demands.
