The Port of Salalah has introduced four hybrid Rubber Tyred Gantry (hRTG) cranes, enhancing cargo handling efficiency while significantly reducing fuel consumption compared to traditional cranes. These cranes are part of a substantial investment aimed at positioning the port as a leading logistics hub, featuring intermodal connectivity and a Free Zone. With advanced technology such as regenerative energy systems and automated steering, these cranes improve operational accuracy and safety. Training for operators will ensure the equipment is utilized effectively, helping the port achieve a six million TEU capacity by year-end.
