In spring 2025, the Port of Rotterdam Authority joined the Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI), which creates frameworks to enhance environmental and social responsibility within energy and commodity supply chains. As Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam connects numerous global chains and adheres to OECD Guidelines to mitigate human rights and environmental violations. RECOSI’s collaboration will improve the Port Authority’s regulatory compliance and risk identification, while leveraging its extensive experience to refine due diligence processes for coal and gas.
