FedEx is intensifying its Network 2.0 initiative by announcing the closure of six additional shipping centers and staff reductions in several states, including Tennessee, Illinois, Virginia, and West Virginia, effective between March and June. This follows previous layoffs at 14 other sites since the beginning of 2023, totaling at least 22 affected locations. The initiative aims to merge FedEx’s Express and Ground networks to reduce costs and improve efficiency, with a goal of optimizing 250 stations by the end of fiscal year 2025.
