Shipping companies are increasingly prioritizing environmental sustainability, evident in the Port of Koper’s recent welcoming of the CMA CGM Indianapolis, its first LNG-powered RO-RO ship. This vessel, capable of transporting 7,000 cars, highlights CMA CGM’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and achieving Net Zero by 2050. The collaboration between the port and CMA CGM aims to enhance logistics and develop rolling cargo markets. The Port of Koper has also initiated the Environmental Ship Index to reward cleaner vessels, reinforcing its dedication to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
