Michael Papaleo, Executive Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer of C&S Wholesale Grocers, retired on October 4 after nearly 30 years with the company. His responsibilities are now shared between Andrew Connell, Senior Vice President of Procurement, and Mark McGowan, Executive Vice President of Retail. Papaleo, who will remain as a strategic advisor for a year, previously served as senior vice president of fresh procurement and merchandising before becoming chief procurement officer in 2020. C&S is currently awaiting a federal decision regarding its acquisition of supermarkets from Kroger and Albertsons amid their proposed merger.
