In a recent Bloomberg interview, Badr Mohammed Al Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, highlighted the airline’s plans to expand its cargo network through a significant deal with another market leader. He acknowledged the impact of recent U.S. tariffs but expressed confidence in the resilience of trade. Al Meer emphasized the company’s inability to meet current demand, noting they could deploy more freighters immediately if available. Qatar Airways Cargo is focused on expanding through partnerships and has formed a joint venture with IAG Cargo and MASkargo, pending regulatory approval. The company also plans to receive new Boeing 777-8 freighters by 2026-2027.
