The Asia Pacific region significantly drives global air cargo growth, contributing 56% to a 12% year-on-year increase in tonnages during the first ten months of 2024. This has raised its share of worldwide outbound tonnages to 41%, surpassing Europe, Central & South America, and North America. Special cargo, particularly vulnerables and high-tech products, fueled this growth, accounting for 36% of total growth. Hong Kong led individual airport growth with a 15% YoY increase, while global chargeable weight also rose by 8% in October, reflecting strong performance across all major regions.
