Thai Airways has partnered with Kansas Modification Center (KMC) to initiate Southeast Asia’s first Boeing 777-300ER freighter conversion program, set to take place at MRO centers in Thailand. This initiative aims to enhance local engineering skills and foster a domestic aerospace parts manufacturing ecosystem, potentially generating over 500 jobs in the aviation sector. The program, featuring advanced aircraft capabilities, aligns with Thailand’s goal of becoming a key aviation hub in the region. Thai Airways currently does not operate dedicated freighters, relying instead on passenger flight cargo space.
