The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has found that imports of disposable aluminum containers from China harm the U.S. industry, as they are sold at unfair prices and subsidized by the Chinese government. The Aluminum Foil Container Manufacturers Association praised this decision, which follows their complaint that initiated the investigation. The U.S. Department of Commerce will soon impose antidumping and countervailing duties on these imports. Additionally, concerns about potential circumvention of U.S. duties through transshipping from countries like Thailand and Vietnam are being investigated.
