Swissport International is set to enhance its investment in electric ground support equipment (eGSE), aiming for 55% eGSE by 2032. Starting January 2025, new vehicle orders will exclusively be for electric versions. By 2027, the company plans to procure only electric GSE, contingent on equipment availability and charging infrastructure development at airports. CEO Warwick Brady emphasized a commitment to sustainability, with over a billion euros allocated to a new electric fleet. Swissport also calls for improved charging infrastructure and standardization in protocols to support this transition.
