Swissport has launched a cutting-edge cargo facility at Manchester Airport, increasing its annual handling capacity to 110,000 tons, which is a 67% expansion from the previous site. Set to commence full operations on October 27, the facility supports global trade and regional economic growth. It offers advanced handling systems, dedicated areas for pharmaceuticals, and sustainability measures aimed at achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Initially employing 95 staff members, the hub is part of Swissport’s broader UK expansion strategy and enhances local businesses’ access to international markets.
