Silk Way West Airlines has renewed its service agreement with GE Aerospace to support its fleet of widebody Boeing aircraft, which includes five GEnx-2B-powered 747-8 freighters, six GE90-115B-powered 777 freighters, and up to four GE9X-powered 777-8 freighters. The airline’s modernization efforts began with orders for these freighters in 2021 and 2022. Operating over 40 routes globally with an annual cargo turnover exceeding 500,000 tonnes, Silk Way West aims for sustainable growth, as noted by COO Onno Pietersma and GE Aerospace’s CEO Russell Stokes, emphasizing the efficiency of GE’s advanced engines.
