The new mobile harbor crane, named “Frieda,” was officially inaugurated at the BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven by Bremen’s Senator for Economy, Kristina Vogt. The Liebherr LHM 550 crane enhances the terminal’s capacity with a lifting ability of 154 tons and operates with low emissions, showcasing BLG LOGISTICS’ commitment to the port. The name, chosen from over 150 public submissions, symbolizes strength and the connection between the port and Bremerhaven. Frieda successfully handled a 118-ton transformer during its first operation, marking a significant advancement in heavy cargo handling at the terminal.
