SATS, a top provider of air cargo and ground handling services, has opened the BUP Handling Centre at Changi Airport to enhance airfreight operations. This facility, named after Bulk Unitisation Programme shipments, spans half the size of a soccer field and aims to reduce cargo processing time by 20%, improving efficiency for time-sensitive shipments. It facilitates better handling by addressing documentation checks and weight verification on-site. The centre also serves as a testing ground for future-ready processes ahead of the upcoming Changi Airport Terminal 5, reinforcing SATS’ role in Singapore’s aviation industry.
