In the last week of October, global air cargo spot rates increased by five percent, driven by rises in Asia Pacific, Europe, and Central & South America. Average spot rates reached $2.93 per kilo, while the overall market average climbed to $2.67 per kg, marking a 22 percent year-on-year increase. Preliminary data showed a seven percent rise in tonnages compared to last year, though this growth was lower than previous months. Notably, chargeable weight from China to Europe fell four percent, contrasting with earlier growth trends. Spot rates from Asia Pacific to the USA also saw significant increases.
