Qatar Airways Cargo has transported 2,800 tonnes of flowers, including 42 million red roses, from Kenya and South America for Valentine’s Day. This included nearly 1,600 tonnes from Nairobi and about 1,200 tonnes from Bogota and Quito to markets like Amsterdam, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. To meet the surge in demand, the airline operated nine extra Boeing 777 charters from Nairobi and ten from Quito. Qatar Airways Cargo aims to support local economies and ensure quality delivery through its efficient logistics network, maintaining a seamless cool chain for flower freshness.
