The CHERISH2O project has launched at the Port of Antwerp, aiming to purify and reuse industrial wastewater from chemical companies as process water, thereby reducing overall water consumption and mitigating risks of water shortages. Twelve participating companies, including major industry players, will assess water needs and discharge levels, identify joint reuse opportunities, and evaluate the environmental impact of wastewater reuse. The initiative, costing around €730,000 and supported by the Flemish government, aligns with the Flemish Climate Adaptation Plan, promoting sustainable water use in the region.
